Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Sulabh Kharel has been elected from Rupandehi-2, defeating CPN-UML vice-chairman Bishnu Paudel by a wide margin.
Kharel secured 56,550 votes in the constituency. Paudel managed only 12,861 votes. He had won the seat in the previous elections.
Nepali Congress candidate Chunna Prasad Paudel finished third with 9,392 votes.
