Government sets up help desk, clinics for Gen Z protest casualties
Home and health ministries to facilitate free treatment, hotline and ambulance services for injured protesters.
Post Report
The government has announced special measures to provide treatment and support to those injured during the Gen Z protests on September 8-9.
In a notice issued on Saturday, the home ministry said a dedicated help desk will be established from September 28 to facilitate the identification of the injured and to issue identity cards for access to medical services.
The ministry stated, “For effective and accessible treatment of individuals injured during the protests, the home ministry has arranged identification and support services, while the ministry of health and population will designate hospitals to run special ‘Gen Z Clinics’ inside and outside the Kathmandu Valley.”
The notice stated that the specialist-led task forces will be formed at the designated hospitals to categorise injuries and oversee treatment and a hotline 1115 will be operated for coordination.
“The health ministry and hospitals will allocate ambulances to ensure mobility for those who sustained injuries during the Gen Z movement,” it said.
