Nepal Police Club (NPC) claimed the title in the Sunstar Cup Men’s National Volleyball Tournament after defeating Tribhuvan Army Club in a thrilling final in Livang on Wednesday.

The match was highly competitive, with NPC securing three sets out of four. They won the first set 25-18, the third set 25-14, and the fourth set 25-23 to seal their victory.

Along with the trophy, the winners received a cash prize of Rs500,000, while the runners-up, Army Club, took home Rs250,000.

In the earlier match of the day, Koshi Province defeated Lumbini Province to take third place, with Koshi winning Rs100,000 and Lumbini receiving a purse of Rs50,000.

Awards were also given to individual players in various categories, including best player, spiker, blocker, and setter. The national tournament was organised as part of the Sun Star Club’s 13th anniversary celebrations, under the theme “For Development of Tourism and Sports in Rolpa”. The competition saw teams from four provinces, along with Army, Police, and the host team.

Paribartan secured Women’s Volleyball title

The women’s district-level volleyball title was won by the women’s team from Paribartan Rural Municipality. Sunilsmiti Rural Municipality, Rolpa Municipality, and Lungri Rural Municipality secured second, third, and fourth places respectively, with prizes of Rs55,000, Rs35,000, and Rs 15,000 awarded to them. The consolation prize of Rs10,000 was given to the team in fifth place.
