Venison seized from house of community forest chief

Forest officials have confiscated deer’s meat from a house belonging to the chairman of a community forest in ward 1 of Haripur Municipality in Sarlahi district on Thursday.
According to Santosh Kumar Jha, chief at the Division Forest Office, two kilogrammes of venison was confiscated from the house of Dinesh BK, chairman of Janaki Community Forest while 13 kg was seized from BK’s neighbour Harinarayan Mahara.
The raids were carried out based on a tip-off. They also seized a musket which was hidden in Mahara’s field. Detailed investigation is underway into the incident, said Jha.
