Newborn dead in Rolpa jeep accident

A two-day-old newborn died in a jeep accident near Sulichaur in ward 4 of Sunil Smriti Rural Municipality of Rolpa district early Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred at around 4:45am, and the child succumbed to injuries two hours later during treatment at Sulichaur Primary Health Centre, police said.
The jeep, carrying three passengers, was travelling from Pyuthan to Sulichaur when it crashed on the Bhaluwang-Liwang road section.
The deceased is the son of Amrit Roka, a resident of ward 1 in Lungri Rural Municipality. Police said Roka and his wife had travelled to Pyuthan Hospital for childbirth and were returning home when the accident happened.
Police Inspector Arun Tamang said the injured, including the driver, are receiving treatment.
