The CPN (Maoist Centre) has announced a public demonstration and warning rally in Kathmandu on October 26. The Maoist Centre stated that the rally, to be held at Exhibition Road, is aimed at protesting against the government's missteps and drawing attention to urgent actions that need to be taken.
Addressing a joint meeting of the Bagmati Province, Special Provincial Coordination Committee, and various affiliated mass organisations at the party office in Paris Danda, party chairman and former prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal informed that the decision to hold the warning rally was made by the party's central office. He also instructed all committees to prepare for the event.
The Maoist Centre expressed concerns over the government's alleged insensitivity, irresponsibility, and lack of planning in disaster management, particularly in addressing issues such as the search for the missing, relief distribution, treatment of the injured, and the construction of temporary shelters.
Additionally, the party plans to use the rally to highlight the problems in reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts, as well as to counteract conspiracies and corruption that undermine the good governance campaign initiated by the previous Maoist-led government.
