The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on Friday for 12 high-impact community development projects.
The projects, valued at Rs474 million, will be funded by India and implemented in various sectors including education, health, agriculture, and drinking water.
“The MoUs signed today reaffirm India’s continued commitment to support Nepal’s development at the grassroots level,” the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu said in a statement.
The projects include the construction of school buildings, health centres, and a water supply system in different districts.
“These initiatives will provide essential infrastructure for education, healthcare, and agricultural development, significantly benefiting local communities,” reads the statement.
Since 2003, India has undertaken 563 high-impact community development projects in Nepal, 490 of which have been completed. The remaining projects are in various stages of completion, according to the embassy.
“This reflects the strong multi-sectoral cooperation between the two nations,” reads the statement.
