Eight people, including six children, die in Baglung landslides

Eight people, including six children, have lost their lives in the landslides in Badigad, Baglung.
The landslide, which started on Tuesday morning in Badigad-9, Balghas, killed 15-year-old Bidhan Pariyar and 24-year-old Ganga Basnet. According to Baglung police, Pariyar lost his life while attempting to clear the debris behind his house, whereas Basnet’s body was recovered from the site.
Similarly, seven-year-old Malati Budha, and Madhu Budha, 12-year-old Aman Budha, and 13-year-old Manoj Budha died when a landslide buried Joglal Budha’s house and cowshed in Badigad-10, Arupata at around 10 am this morning. Budha’s neighbours, six-year-old Sanju BK and 59-year-old Maitidevi BK, also lost their lives in the same incident.
Details about the missing people are still to come.
According to Chitrangad Baral, the assistant chief district officer of Baglung, 46-year-old Sangita Budha, 59-year-old Sumitra BK, 32-year-old Sita Thapa, and 42-year-old Mangalsingh Budha, who are in critical condition, have been sent to Burtibang-based primary health centre for further treatment.
