Special Court sets Rs50,000 bail for graft-accused suspended secretary Aryal

The Special Court has set a bail of Rs50,000 for suspended chief secretary Baikuntha Aryal, who remains free while facing corruption charges.
The court's decision came after a hearing related to a corruption case involving the procurement related to excise duty sticker printing, filed by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority.
According to Yagya Regmi, the information officer at the Special Court, a bench comprising chairman Tek Narayan Kunwar and members Ritendra Thapa and Ram Bahadur Thapa set the bail for Aryal.
The anti-graft body filed a corruption case against Aryal and 11 others on June 23. Following the indictment, Aryal was suspended from his position.
In addition to Aryal, the corruption case involves the former director general of the Inland Revenue Department Ritesh Kumar Shakya, former deputy director general of the Department and incumbent deputy director general of the Customs Department Tanka Prasad Pandey, former executive director of the Security Printing Centre Bikal Paudel, former director of the Inland Revenue Office Lazimpat Ganesh Bikram Shahi, former director of the National Information Technology Centre Safal Shrestha, officers Rabindra Prasad Paudel, Bishnu Prasad Gautam, section officer of the Security Printing Centre Hari Ballabh Ghimire, former procurement consultant of the Security Printing Centre Shakti Prasad Shrestha, and Keshav Sharma, director of Print Sales Pvt. Ltd.
The CIAA also included Print Sales Pvt. Ltd as a defendant in the case.
