Palpa

Due to the collapse of a 50-meter section of the road at Tinau-5, Hiwande Khola, on Siddhartha Highway, all vehicular movement has been completely halted at night to minimise potential damages.

According to Ananda Kafle, chief district officer of Palpa, this closure will be effective from Wednesday, July 24, starting at 7 pm until 6 am the following morning, aimed at preventing accidents.

However, emergency vehicles such as ambulances will still be allowed to operate during this period, he clarified.

"Further damage caused by heavy rainfall or road debris may prompt partial or complete suspension of vehicle traffic at any time, following engineering assessments. Maintenance work is currently underway by the road division office to address the critical waterlogged section," the chief district officer said in a press release issued on Tuesday.

Due to the high risk associated with the road conditions, the district administration office in Palpa has urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel.
