Gyanmani Nepal, a pioneer in research and study of Nepali historical literature, died at the age of 91 on Tuesday.
According to a family source, Nepal was admitted to Tribhuvan Teaching Hospital ten days before his death, where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
As a disciple of Nayaraj Pant, a Nepali ploymath, Nepal is known for his significant contributions to Nepali literature, particularly his renowned masterpiece, ‘Mahabharata of Nepal’. Some of his noteworthy works include ‘Nepal Nirukta’, ‘Yatra Trayi’, ‘Nepalnirupan’, and ‘Nepal- Bhotchin Sambandhaka Kehi Sanskritik Pakshya’.
Nepal is survived by his two sons.
