Kanti Lokpath, a 92-km highway linking Hetauda of Makawanpur with Satdobato of Lalitpur, will be closed during office hours for 45 days starting March 14.
According to the Kantilokpath Road Project, the highway will be closed from 10am to 5pm every day from March 14 to April 27 for repair work.
“The road will be expanded in a 1.5 km stretch by cutting rock.
Similarly, the Simat road section in Makawanpur area will be concretised,” said Suman Yogesh, chief of the road project.
The highway, whose construction began some 65 years ago, is still under construction. A five-kilometer section is yet to be blacktopped.
