The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu on Friday gifted books worth Rs1.9 million to 30 institutions on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day of India.
During a special ceremony at the embassy, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava presented books to the institutions.
During the celebrations, the ambassador felicitated widows and next of kin of deceased soldiers by disbursing their dues of Rs50 million and blankets.
Reiterating its commitment to helping the retired soldiers, the embassy unveiled ‘Bhu Puu-2024’ magazine covering the welfare initiatives of the Indian government for ex-servicemen domiciled in Nepal, the embassy said in a statement.
