Deputy chair of Swamikartik Rural Municipality Maina Joshi died at her house in Bajura on Wednesday night.
According to Bharat Rokaya, the chairperson of the rural municipality, Joshi underwent multiple surgeries in 2017 after being diagnosed with kidney and uterine cancer.
Joshi, a resident of Ward 4 of the rural municipality, was elected from the Nepali Congress in the 2022 local elections.
Joshi is survived by her husband, two daughters and two sons.
