Chitwan National Park earns Rs140 million from visitors

A total of 148,000 people visited Chitwan National Park, the country’s first protected area, during the first six months of the current fiscal year.
As per the data available at the national park administration, domestic tourists outnumbered foreigners in visiting the area.
As many as 90,114 Nepali people visited the national park—which is home to tigers, one-horn rhinos, gharials and various species of other animals and birds.
According to Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, information officer at the Chitwan National Park, Rs140 million revenue was collected from visiting tourists over the past six months.
