Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has restructured the Prime Minister’s Office.
A total of 68 posts, including that of three secretaries and seven under secretaries, have been cut in the downsizing on Friday.
The move comes after a Cabinet meeting approved Dahal’s proposal for the same on December 28.
While various units within the Prime Minister’s Office have been merged, a separate division has been established for information and technology to provide support to develop a more advanced information technology unit.
Prime Minister Dahal in his address to the nation on December 26 had announced his plan to make structural changes in the office.
This decision has come as per the prime minister’s commitment to make the administration more agile and functional, said Govinda Acharya, press advisor to the prime minister.
