The Judicial Council on Sunday recommended Chief registrar of the Supreme Court Lal Bahadur Kunwar and registrar Nirmala Paudel as high court judges.
The meeting recommended Kunwar for Patan High Court and Paudel for Pokhara High Court.
As per the legal provision, the chief justice appoints high court judges on the council’s recommendation.
The council transferred judge Chandra Bahadur Saru to the Nepalgunj bench of Tulsipur High Court from the Butwal bench.
On November 20, a meeting of the Judicial Council had recommended six candidates for the post of Supreme Court justices. They were appointed by President Ramchandra Paudel on December 20 after their names were endorsed by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee of the federal parliament.
