Kathmandu
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has barred schools under its jurisdiction from deploying discipline in-charge.
On Friday, Sitaram Koirala, head of the education department of the municipality, issued a circular to all the schools and instructed them to that end.
Koirala said the municipality received complaints that discipline in-charges have caused fear and negative psychological impacts on children and have also physically assaulted them.
It has been advised not to assign such a position and create a student-friendly learning environment, Koirala said in the circular.
