Prime Minister Dahal invites UAE investors to invest in Nepal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday urged investors in the United Arab Emirates to invest in Nepal.
The prime minister, who is in the UAE to attend the 28th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28), highlighted major policies as well as reform measures taken by the government while encouraging the investors in the UAE to invest in Nepal.
The prime minister said so while addressing the Nepal-Dubai Business Forum jointly organised by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Embassy of Nepal in the UAE in collaboration with Dubai Chambers.
At the programme, Mohammad Ali bin Rashed Lootah, president and CEO of Dubai Chambers, opined that there are plenty of scopes to further enhance cooperation between FNCCI and Dubai Chambers.
FNCCI President Chandra Dhakal stressed the need to strengthen economic and trade relations between Nepal and the UAE. The event was attended by prominent business leaders and dignitaries from the UAE and Nepal.
Dahal reached Dubai on Thursday, leading Nepal’s high-level delegation to COP 28.
Nepali Ambassador to the UAE Tej Bahadur Chhetri and UAE’s Ambassador to Nepal Abdulla Saeed Mubarak Jarwan Al Shamsi and officials at the Nepali Embassy received the prime minister at the Dubai International Airport.
Dahal will attend the high-level segment of the COP 28-World Climate Action Summit being held on Friday and Saturday.
Likewise, the prime minister will be hosting a high-level side event “Call of the mountain: Who saves us from the climate crisis?” to raise Nepal’s voice on climate change as well as promote the mountain agenda in the COP negotiation process, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Monday.
Dahal’s daughter Ganga, Minister for Forest and Environment Dr Birendra Prasad Mahato and other senior government officials are accompanying him on the trip. He is scheduled to return home on Sunday.
