Minister for Foreign Affairs NP Saud and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava on Wednesday jointly inaugurated the newly built campus building of Himalaya Kiran Public Campus in Khandbari Municipality of Sankhuwasabha district.
Issuing a press release, the Embassy of India stated that the project built at a cost of Rs37.4 million was implemented under the Nepal-India Development Cooperation, as a High Impact Community Development Project under an agreement between the two governments.
Minister Saud in his remarks noted that Nepal was fortunate to have a neighbour like India that has significantly contributed to the development of Nepal.
Speaking at the event, Saud stressed that the project was particularly important as it would ensure education for generations of Nepali students and help them in their future careers, the embassy said.
Ambassador Srivastava highlighted that the project was an important part of the very robust development partnership between the two South Asian neighbours.
He further said, the continued commitment of the Indian government to continue to bolster the development partnership as per the priorities of the government of Nepal, for the benefit of the people of both the countries, reads the statement.
The three-storied building features classrooms, science lab, computer, library rooms, meeting hall, and more.
"The project is a reflection of India’s development partnership with Nepal and complements efforts of the government of Nepal in augmenting infrastructure in the field of education in Nepal," read the statement.
