Graft case filed against local unit accountant
The CIAA on Tuesday filed a case accusing the chairman, accountant, and a technician of Bishnupur Rural Municipality in Saptari, of being involved in seeking a bribe from a service seeker.Post Report
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a corruption case against Teknarayan Yadav, an accountant working in Saptari’s Bishnupur Rural Municipality, in a special court on Tuesday.
A team of CIAA officials deployed from the anti-graft body’s Bardibas office on August 16 had arrested Yadav red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 200,000 from a service seeker as a payment for solar connection among other projects.
The CIAA team had also recovered a check worth Rs 300,000 from Yadav.
The commission, in the chargesheet, has accused rural municipality Chairman Umesh Prasad Yadav, accountant Yadav and MIS operator Birendra Kumar Yadav of being involved in the corruption.
CIAA spokesperson Bhola Dahal informed that a case was filed seeking a fine of Rs 500,000 each from the accused trio.
