Rautahat police seize smuggled tobacco, goods

A team of security personnel from the Brahmapuri Area Police Office in Rajdevi Municipality patrolling the Nepal-India border seized illegal goods and a jeep from a place near the Bagmati Dam in ward 3 of Rajdevi Municipality, on Thursday night.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Uma Shankar Yadav of the district police office, from the jeep, the team recovered eight sacks of tobacco and other goods that were smuggled into Nepal.
The driver ran away when the police approached the vehicle, he said.
The recovered goods and the vehicle have been sent to the Gaur Custom Office for further investigation.
