Nepal Oil Corporation hikes prices of petroleum products
The price of petrol and diesel hiked by Rs4 and Rs3 per litre respectively as the price of LP gas increased by Rs235 per cylinder.Post Report
The Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the prices of petrol, diesel and LP gas.
The corporation hiked the prices effective from midnight on Thursday as per the automatic fuel price mechanism.
The prices of petrol and diesel/kerosene have been increased by Rs4 and Rs3 per litre, respectively, and that of the cooking gas cylinder by Rs235 per cylinder. Now, a cylinder of LP gas costs Rs1,895, according to the statement issued by the corporation on Thursday.
Consumers will now have to pay Rs182 per litre for petrol and Rs170 per litre for diesel and kerosene in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal.
They have to pay Rs181 for petrol and Rs169 for diesel and kerosene per litre in Surkhet and Dang, and it will cost Rs179.50 for petrol and Rs167.50 for diesel and kerosene in Charaali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Birgunj.
In Nepal, under the automatic fuel price mechanism, the corporation sets prices based on the tariff it receives from its sole supplier Indian Oil Corporation. Indian Oil Corporation reviews export prices of petrol and diesel/kerosene every fortnight and of other products such as aviation fuel and LPG on a monthly basis.
