UML removes Keshav Sthapit, Pramod Yadav from central committee
The party’s secretariat meeting seeks clarification from Mani Thapa.Post Report
The CPN-UML has decided to seek clarification from Mani Thapa, a standing committee member, for remaining absent from the party’s activities for a long.
Rajendra Gautam, chief of the party’s publicity department, said a secretariat meeting held on Monday at the party’s central office decided to ask him the reasons for his idleness.
“Thapa is inactive in the party. We are seeking reasons for that,” said Gautam.
UML Chairman KP Oli was riled with Thapa after he had commented that UML is a right-wing party and it started from the leadership. Since then, Thapa is rarely seen in the party’s activities.
Likewise, the meeting removed former Kathmandu Mayor Keshav Sthapit and Pramod Yadav from the central committee.
Kedar Neupane and Chakka Bahadur Lama have been nominated in their place, according to Gautam. Neupane joined the UML from the CPN (Unified Socialist) and Lama from the Maoists.
