The body of a mountain guide who died on Mount Dhaulagiri in October last year following a heavy snowfall has been airlifted to Kathmandu on Saturday through a Nepal Army chopper.
The body of Ram Bahadur Tamang was retrieved by a team of Nepal Army personnel and Sherpa climbers at an altitude of around 5,000 metres during a search operation on Thursday and Friday.
According to the Nepal Army Directorate of Public Relations and Information, Tamang went missing on October 6, 2022, while leading a team of Korean climbers for the Dhaulagiri ascent.
NA said search teams were mobilised following the incident, but the search was later postponed due to inclement weather.
