Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is set to brief the Kathmandu-based diplomats and donor agencies on Monday afternoon. This will be Dahal’s first briefing to the diplomatic and donor community since assuming office on December 25 last year.
The briefing will take place at the Prime Minister's Office at Singha Durbar on Monday afternoon, an official at the prime minister’s private secretariat, told the Post.
“We are in the process of finalising the invitation and other arrangements,” Govinda Acharya, press adviser to the prime minister, told the Post.
According to officials, the briefing was planned much earlier, but was postponed due to some domestic issues.
During the briefing, the prime minister will inform the diplomatic communities about his government’s priorities on domestic affairs, foreign policy and economic cooperation, among others.
There is a tradition of briefing the Kathmandu-based diplomatic and donor communities after a new government takes charge.
However, the previous Sher Bahadur Deuba government did not organise such an event.
