Nepal’s ambassador to China Shrestha presents letter of credence

Nepal’s ambassador to China Bishnu Pukar Shrestha on Monday presented his letter of credence to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
At a ceremony organised at the Great Hall of the People, as many as 72 ambassadors from different countries submitted their credentials collectively, according to Nepali Embassy in Beijing.
Welcoming the ambassadors, the Chinese President congratulated and extended his best wishes for their successful tenure, the embassy said in a statement.
The occasion saw the presence of Wang Yi, director of the office of the central foreign affairs commission; Qin Gang, state councillor and foreign minister of China; Hong Lei, chief of protocol; and other high-ranking officials of the Chinese government.
Shrestha, who was appointed ambassador in August last year, had started his job formally after presenting his credentials to the director general of the Protocol Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Hong Lei.
