The Ministry of Health and Population on Saturday said it recorded 78 new Covid-19 cases and one death in the last 24 hours.
The new cases were confirmed through 1,148 tests—224 through RT-PCR and 924 through antigen—performed during the period.
According to the ministry, 20 PCR-confirmed coronavirus cases were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the nationwide infection tally so far to 1,002,557.
A total of 58 people tested positive through antigen tests, the ministry said in the daily report.
With one Covid-related death in the last 24 hours, the nationwide death toll since the pandemic began three years ago has reached 12,027.
According to the ministry, 990,147 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 50 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 383.
Nepal on Friday had reported 106 new Covid-19 cases and one death.
