The Ministry of Health and Population on Friday said it recorded 136 new Covid-19 cases from 1,424 tests in the last 24 hours.

The ministry in its daily situation update report said the new cases were confirmed through 197 RT-PCR and 1,227 antigen tests.

A total of 34 people tested positive in PCR and 102 in antigen, according to the ministry.

As of Friday, 6,026,085 PCR and 1,555,447 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

The Covid-19 death toll since the pandemic began stands at 12,022 with no new death reported in the last 24 hours.

According to the ministry, 989,684 infected people have recovered from the disease so far.

A total of 68 people recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the recovery rate to 98.7 percent.

The number of active cases stands at 401.

The country had reported 106 new cases on Thursday.
