A total of two persons died on the spot and nine others were injured when a jeep met with an accident at Dupcheshwor Rural Municipality of Nuwakot district on Friday.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka of Nuwakot District Police Office, a 25-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl of the rural municipality died in the mishap.

The jeep skidded off the road and fell some 400 metres down while descending at Dupcheshwor-4 at around 1:30pm.

Police said the injured have been sent to Kharanitar Hospital and Kathmandu for treatment.
