Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Transport Narayan Kaji Shrestha returned home on Tuesday night after attending the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries in Doha, Qatar.

Nepal has been chosen as the chair of the global coordination bureau of the least developed countries through the conference that will end on March 9.

Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha said countries including Nepal raised concrete voices about what donors or partners should do to uplift the conditions of the least developed countries.

Addressing the conference on Saturday, Shrestha said the least developed counties need more assistance as their economies are facing the onslaught of mega-global crises, such as the pandemic, conflicts, and climate disasters.
