Two children died after a fire engulfed a house in Hilihang Rural Municipality-7 of Panchthar district on Friday afternoon.
According to police, two boys aged five and four were burned to death in the inferno at a house of local Prem Pantha.
It is said the house caught the fire when the kids were alone.
However, it is not clear how the fire started, said Dhankumar Limbu, ward chairman, adding their charred bodies were found on the upper floor of the house.
Panchthar chief district officer Ganesh Gaire and Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Khatiwada have reached the incident site.
