Indian Foreign Secretary Kwatra calls on President, Foreign Minister
The visiting diplomat also participated in a foreign secretary-level meeting where Nepal and India agreed to further strengthen economic and development cooperation for the benefit of the entire region, according to the Foreign Ministry.Post Report
Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra, who is on a two-day official visit paid a courtesy call to President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Shital Niwas on Monday.
A statement issued by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu following the meeting stated that Kwatra conveyed a message of greetings on behalf of the President of India Draupadi Murmu.
Earlier in the day, Kwatra held a meeting with Foreign Minister Bimala Rai Paudyal.
The Foreign Ministry informed that various aspects of Nepal-India relations were discussed during the meeting.
According to the ministry, issues such as cooperation in energy, trade, transportation, education, culture, health services, connectivity and infrastructure were discussed.
Likewise, Kwatra also participated in a foreign secretary-level meeting on Monday. On behalf of Nepal, Foreign Secretary Bharatraj Paudyal and other officials participated in the meeting.
The Foreign Ministry informed that the meeting concluded with a comprehensive review of the partnership between the two countries.
In the meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen economic and development cooperation for the benefit of the entire region.
Indian Foreign Secretary Kwatra arrived in Kathmandu on Monday for a two-day official visit.
