Political and business leaders discuss prospects of Lumbini Province

Political and business community leaders and representatives from various other sectors have joined a discussion on the prospects of Lumbini Province in a day-long event organised in Bhairahawa on Saturday.
‘Lumbiniko Samarthya’, an interaction programme focusing on implementation of federalism and exploring economic opportunities of Lumbini Province, is organised by the Kantipur Media Group, in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Lumbini Province.
The programme has four sessions covering issues ranging from implementation of the federal system and exploring economic opportunities in the region.
The first session will discuss institutionalisation of federalism.
Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Leela Giri, Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Aman Lal Modi, Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader of Lumbini Province Dilli Chaudhary, Laxmi Pandey, chair of National Association of Rural Municipalities in Nepal, are other speakers of the session.
The session is being facilitated by Editor of Kantipur Daily Umesh Chauhan.
In the second session, the issues related to infrastructure at local levels will be discussed under the topic 'Municipalities and Infrastructure'.
Gokarna Bista, UML secretary and ex-minister; Dhawal Shamsher Rana, lawmaker and RPP general secretary; Khel Raj Pandey, mayor of Butwal Sub-metropolitan City; Saraswati Darlami, chair of Bagansakali Rural Municipality of Palpa will be speaking in the second session.
Sanju Poudel, the Post correspondent, will moderate the session.
Similarly, the third session has Mahaprasad Adhikari, governor of Nepal Rastra Bank; Dr Govinda Raj Pokharel, former vice-chair of National Planning Commission; Sonali Gurung, managing director of IT Group of Industries Rupandehi; Krishna Prasad Sharma, chair of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Lumbini Province, will discuss on ‘Obstacles in Economy’.
Social Bureau Chief of Kantipur Daily Suresh Raj Neupane will moderate the session.
The fourth session will discuss the tourism industry under the topic 'Thrive of Tourism’.
Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kirati, Senior Vice Chair of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries Chandra Prasad Dhakal, NATA Lumbini Province Chair Rachana Pant, Hotel Association Nepal Chair of Bardiya Mohan Chaudhary are the speakers for the session.
Dipendra Baduwal, Lumbini Province bureau chief of the Post, will facilitate the session.
