Tanahun
The Tanahun District Court has sentenced a septuagenarian man to life imprisonment after pronouncing him guilty of raping three minors.
A bench of Judge Harish Chandra Dhungana handed down the sentence to the 73-year-old man from Bhanu Municipality-10 on Wednesday.
Police had arrested the man on October 18, 2020, on the charge of raping three minor girls, aged 9, 11 and 12.
The court, however, gave a clean chit to a 17-year-old youth accused in the case.
“The man has been convicted in all three cases, but the court is yet to pronounce punishment in two cases,” said Min Bahadur Kunwar, registrar at the court.
