A woman, who was injured while trying to save her tenant from self-immolation on Sunday, has died.
40-year-old Sangeeta Sapkota of Pokhara Metropolis-13 succumbed to burn injuries while undergoing treatment at the Pokhara Academy of Health Science on Monday.
Director of the academy Bharat Bahadur Khatri confirmed that Sapkota, who was on ventilator support, breathed her last at 11am.
Sapkota was injured while trying to save her tenant, 43-year-old Krishna Bahadur Chhetri, after he set himself on fire. She had sustained burn injuries in around 85 percent part of her body.
Police Inspector Subash Timilsina of Kaski District Police Office said the man’s condition is not serious.
The reason behind his attempt to die by suicide is not yet disclosed, said police.
