Koshi Province cricket team captain Meenash Thapa, 27, died in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday night.
According to the District Police Office, Morang, the accident occurred on the Airport Line in ward 4 of Biratnagar Metropolitan City while Thapa was riding towards Ganesh Chowk from the airport.
His motorcycle went out of control and overturned on the road, leaving him critically injured.
Thapa was rushed to Koshi Hospital for treatment, but doctors declared him dead at 12:30am, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kopila Chudal said.
Police said further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
