Nepali Congress’ Mukta Kumari Yadav files candidacy for House deputy Speaker
Yadav, a central committee member of the Nepali Congress, is a former member of the National Assembly.

Nepali Congress lawmaker Mukta Kumari Yadav on Friday filed her nomination for the deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Congress, the CPN (Unified Socialist), Loktantrik Samajbadi Party and Rastriya Janamorcha have fielded Yadav as a common candidate.
Yadav’s nomination was proposed by Congress lawmaker Badri Prasad Pandey and was seconded by Unified Socialist’s Metmani Chaudhary and Samajbadi Party’s Sarbendra Nath Shukla.
Yadav, a central committee member of the party, is a former member of the National Assembly.
The ruling coalition has fielded Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Indira Rana Magar as the candidate for the deputy speaker.

The House of Representatives is conducting the election for the post on Saturday. The lower house elected the CPN-UML’s Dev Raj Ghimire the House Speaker on Thursday. He defeated Ishwari Neupane of the Nepali Congress.
