Temperatures dip as thick fog grips several parts of the country
Bad weather conditions since early morning have disrupted domestic flights service across the nation including from Kathmandu.Post Report
Dense fog blanketed several regions across the country including Kathmandu Valley with the onset of winter. The capital along with many other places in hilly and Tarai region was blanketed by thick mist and fog on Thursday.
Weather experts say the weather has been degrading due to the partial impact of western low-pressure on the eastern part of Nepal.
The foggy weather in the valley disrupted domestic flights stranding passengers at the airport.
Even as Kathmandu’s weather cleared up during the day, flights from Pokhara, Simara, Bhairahawa, Dhangadhi and other places were affected due to bad weather conditions.
According to the department of Hydrology and Meteorology, weather in hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki province are slowly clearing up while the Tarai region remains blanketed under dense fog.
The weather in the hilly region of Gandaki Province will continue to improve in the afternoon while bad weather conduction will continue in several places of Province-1 through the night, informed the Department.
The department has also requested everyone to take necessary measures as temperature levels throughout the country have been predicted to drop in the next 24-hours.
