A constable of the Armed Police Force has been injured in a shooting at Ramnagar Rural Municipality-6, Silaut Bazar of Sarlahi district on Friday evening.

According to Sarlahi District Police Office, off-duty constable Suresh Sah sustained serious injuries in the shooting. He was rushed to Janakpur Provincial Hospital and later referred to another hospital for further treatment.

A preliminary investigation by the police revealed that Sah was shot after a dispute with his maternal uncle’s son regarding a financial transaction.

According to Vijay Yadav, spokesperson of Sarlahi District Police Office, the miscreants are on the run following the incident.

Ram Pravesh Sah, the son of Suresh’s maternal uncle, has been detained by the police. Deputy Superintendent of Police Yadav said further investigation is being conducted.
