More Nepali students heading for the US

The number of Nepali students studying in the United States has increased by 5.6 percent compared to a year ago, according to the 2021/2022 Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange.
According to data released by Institute of International Education (IIE) and the US Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, as many as 11,779 students from Nepal are currently pursuing education in the country.

A press statement issued by the US Embassy on Tuesday stated that the new international student enrollment has increased by 80 percent with the total number of international students enrolled in US institutions up by 4 percent overall in 2021/2022.
The statement, quoting the new report, also said that international students are returning to in-person studies in the United States and almost 90 percent of all enrolled students who had been forced to take classes remotely due to the Covid-19 pandemic are attending in-person classes.
