At least four die as passenger bus falls off a bridge in Sarlahi

At least four people died after a passenger bus met with an accident at Phuljor in Sarlahi district on Sunday.
According to police, the bus en route to Janakpur from Birgunj fell off a bridge over the Phuljor River along the EastWest Highway. As per initial reports, 25 people were injured in the accident.
“It looks like the driver lost control of the bus causing it to swerve off the bridge,” said Inspector Kedarman Dong, chief at the District Traffic Police Office.
Dong informed that the police are still taking stock of the incident and are yet to ascertain the identities of the deceased.
Lalbandi Area Police Office informed that the bodies of the deceased have been taken to District Hospital for post-mortem while the injured are receiving treatment at a health centre in Lalbandi.
