A women's march will be held in Kathmandu on Friday under the leadership of a massive civil movement demanding an end to the growing violence against women.
The movement has called on the public to participate in the women's march from Basantapur to Singha Durbar.
A statement issued by Mohna Ansari, Archana Thapa and Rita Pariyar among others, on behalf of the Brihat Nagarik Andolan, said that the government has been silent on the cases of rape and violence against women.
“From Maina Sunuwar to Nirmala Pant, from Angira Pasi to Bhagarathi Bhatt, this trend must stop forever. All victims should get justice,” reads the statement. “No criminal or rapist should go unpunished.”
