Online applications for new driving licences will be available from Tuesday, nine months after it was suspended over the coronavirus scare, the Department of Transport Management said on Friday.
Online forms for new driving licences will be available from December 29, the department said in a statement on its website. The forms have been unavailable since March 24 when the country went into a lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Although the department announced the resumption of online applications, it is yet to make public details on when the written and driving tests will resume.
According to the department, every day around 8,000 people applied for the driver’s licence before the pandemic. Around half of them would pass the tests and get issued a licence.
