DOLPA: A total of 1,100 houses in Dolpa which are being constructed under the Janata Awas programme have been left incomplete due to delay in budget allocation. The government has not released the second instalment of budget to complete the homes meant for the impoverished Dalit households. The government has not issued budget for the programme in two years, said Tanka Sunar of Ruma Rural Municipality. The programme beneficiaries have only constructed the foundations of their new homes. Gopal Sarki, who works for the Federal Unit Office of the programme, said the programme is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, and it has been launched in nine former village development committees.
