The ruling Nepal Communist Party is preparing to file an impeachment motion against Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority commissioner Raj Narayan Pathak for taking bribe to settle the dispute of Nepal Engineering College.
Nepal Communist Party made the decision to this effect after the news of Pathak’s graft scandal came to light. Nepal Communist Party Parliamentary Party deputy leader Subash Nembang confirmed that the process against Pathak will be taken ahead.
Saying that the party was aware about the issue, Nembang said the other issues will be taken ahead now. He was referring to registering the impeachment motion.
Meanwhile, there are speculations that Pathak is resigning from his post. The Nepali Communist Party leaders have initiated a signature campaign to file the impeachment motion at the Parliament if Pathak do not put in his paper till Friday.
The video of Pathak taking bribe has already been sent to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
After he received the video, the Prime Minister along with other Nepal Communist Party leaders was holding discussions to make a decision regarding the issue.
The Nepali Communist Party had decided to file the impeachment motion against Pathak after some media including Kantipur Daily published the news about him on Wednesday.
