Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government’s social security programme will leave no one poor in the country.
Inaugurating the third labour parliament of the Joint Trade Union Coordination Centre in Kathmandu on Friday, Oli claimed the programme will lift many labourers out of poverty.
As the government thinks about the welfare of the working class people, Oli said the government will always remain positive for their capacity and economic development.
“We brought the programmes not only for the betterment of the labourers, but also for the welfare of the industrialists,” he said, adding, “social security programme, which was brought by convincing the labourers and owners, is a new issue for many.”
He said the Oli government has been working to bring a policy not to stop the rich people from becoming richer but to make poor people richer.
“We will also bring a programme for the poor people that will help them fulfill basic necessities easily,” he said. “Though less time is required to eliminate social discrimination, it will take some time for social equality. We will reach that stage soon,” PM Oli added.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said that the government is committed to control the death of people in Tarai districts during winter season.
“The government has been coordinating with security agencies, local level, administration and private sector to protect the people from cold spell,” he said, adding, “No one has to die from cold from this year.”
Moreover, he claimed that the main opposition Nepali Congress is trying to threaten the people by saying that the government will bring authoritarianism in the country.
Saying that he had fought for democracy for more than half a decade, he warned the Nepali Congress to not scare people by spreading the rumour of authoritarianism.
