At least 30 houses were destroyed in a fire that broke out at Palata Rural Municipality-1, Khada Village in Kalikot district in the wee hours of Monday.
The fire that broke out at Neupane settlement has not yet come under control.
As roofs of almost all the houses in the settlement are made up of hay and straw, the fire damaged the properties in no time. However, details of the property destroyed in fire are yet to be established.
Following the incident, police personnel from the Area Police Office, Thirpu and Area Police Office, Jarkot in Pachaljharana Rural Municipality were deployed to douse fire.
According to Chief District Officer Chandra Bahadur Karki, it will take some more time to ascertain the details of property destroyed in the fire.
