Six people were killed and two others injured critically when a jeep met with an accident at at Thatikadh Rural Municipality, Dailekh on Wednesday.
The Bolero jeep (Bhe 1 Cha 2207) heading to Bahakot of Thatikadh Rural Municipality from Surkhet district veered off the road at Dhamigaun at around 8am this morning.
Chief District Officer Laxmi Prasad Banskota said Rajendra Bahadur Shahi, 47, of Thatikadh Rural Municipality-3 Nirmal Bam, 30, of Thatikadh Rural Municipality-1, Ratna Shahi, of Thatikadh Rural Municipality-4, driver Ramesh Shahi, Dilip Shahi and Shamsher Bam died in the accident.
Likewise, seriously injured, Mansara Shahi and Juddha Suji, are receiving medical treatment at Surkhet-based regional hospital. CDO Banskota further said that both the injured are in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the accident. Locals at Dhamigaun said the jeep that was heading uphill fell some 200 metres down the road while trying to reverse.
