Leaders campaigning for unification of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have issued an appeal for solidarity with the campaign to unify three factions of the party.
In a statement on Sunday, 19 leaders of Kamal Thapa led RPP stated that the country has realised the need for an alternative democratic and nationalist force, and that can only be fulfilled by a unified, strong, and democratic RPP.
“Everyone is familiar with the RPP’s unrelenting faith in constitutional monarchy, Sanatan Hindu Religion, national unity and integrity. And this belief can be the binding force for all three RPP and other people, force and group having similar ideology,” read the statement.
Talking to the post over telephone, RPP leader and former minister Dilnath Giri said the unification bid can’t be derailed under any pretexts. “It is the attempt to unite the other two breakaway factions that split from the one single party at different times,” said Giri.
The statement stated that the party can only established its values and ideologies through unification of forces with similar political views.
The party leaders also expressed sadness over the news reports that the party’s unification attempts have gone to waste.
The RPP leaders have requested the leaders and cadres of all three factions of the party to express solidarity with the campaign by give up their personal interests, prejudices and reservations.
